FAQs

Below are some of the questions we get asked frequently. If yours isn't answered here, please just contact us and we'll try to help.

How much does it cost to tint windows in NZ?

House window tinting cost varies according to the size of the property and its features, i.e. whether there are wooden frames, aluminium, double-glazing, etc. Wooden-framed windows are a bit more costly because they are often warped and more prep is required. As a guide, a standard 3-bedroom home with 1 lounge could cost from $1,800. We’re happy to give you a no-obligation quote if you send in measurements and photos of the windows. Note that we use top-quality window film with a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty to make sure your investment lasts.

Is it worth it to tint house windows?

Yes, tinting not only reduces UV damage on homes, furniture and flooring by up to 99%, but it also reduces nasty glare from the sun. It reduces heat during the summer months, which in turn saves you on energy costs... and something a lot of people don’t know is that tinting actually insulates heat inside your home during the cooler months, keeping your home warmer.

Will tinting darken rooms?

This depends on a number of factors: how many windows are in the room, how large the windows are, plus the type of film used. If you already have a dark room and choose a strong tint, it will darken the room. We are happy to discuss options to achieve the right balance of protection and light that works for you.

Will tinting affect house plants?

No, tinting is fine for plants. Tinting still allows light in – it only reduces harmful UV light.

Is tint animal friendly?

Tint is quite durable and handles most animals placing paws up against glass.

How much does home window tinting cost on average?

On average, a 3-bedroom full home tint will cost around $1,800. However, the exact cost depends on window sizing, quantity of windows and the type of frame. If you'd like a quote for your property, please send us photos of your windows along with height/width of each via text, Facebook Messenger or email

Can you apply window film to double-glazing?

Definitely. We have a lot of happy customers in the new-build areas of Auckland who love the additional privacy and protection that our tinting has provided when applied to their double-glazed windows.
